Pastor's Blogspot
Dear Riversiders,
I want to talk about what it means to be a member at Riverside Church, something I believe is particularly important as we begin the process of asking existing members to renew their membership, a by-law change approved unanimously at last year’s Annual Meeting.
To be a member at Riverside Church means that the Big 3 is not just something we think might be a good concept, but that we personally practice all three. It means that our mission and our values are things we are passionately committed to. It means that we embrace the C&MA Statement of Faith. To be a member at Riverside Church also means we have each gone through a formal membership process, and have been interviewed and approved by our Elders.
Let me remind those of you who are already members of Riverside Church that maintaining your membership here means we have to choose to personally renew our membership covenant. If you have not yet received an envelope containing the materials for renewing your membership, you can pick them up Sunday, May 27th or June 3rd at the office window, or stop by during the week between the hours of 9-4. We need membership renewals back by June 17th in order to prepare for our Annual Meeting June 24th, and we hope all our members will make the effort to attend this event.
If you are not a member yet at Riverside Church and are interested in receiving some information about it, follow this link.
God bless you all!
Pastor Tom
