Before you attend...

We’re glad you took a moment to check us out.  You can listen to past messages online if you'd like an idea of the topics and teaching style at Riverside.  If you choose to join us for a service, we’ll make every effort to create an enjoyable experience for you!

What can I expect on my first visit?

You have enough to think about when you’re visiting a church for the first time.  Let’s get some of the necessary questions out of the way now, so when you get to Riverside you can experience the great music and friendly people, and connect with the message of hope that God has for you!

Casual dress
Come as you are! You'll feel comfortable in jeans or business casual wear.  We’re more interested with meeting your real life needs than with what you wear.

Greeters
As you enter the building, we make sure the first face you see at Riverside has a smile on it!  Whether you are looking for the kid’s worship service or just a cup of coffee before the service starts, a Guest Services volunteer will be nearby to help you get where you need to go—just look for the black shirts!  You can pick up a welcome packet from any of the Guest Service Volunteers or at the Connecting Point tables in the lobby.

Age-appropriate services for the kids
If you have children, we know you're both looking for a FUN place for them to learn!  You'll want to take advantage of our safe and secure children's services designed just for kids from birth-2nd and grades 3-5.  We recommend you arrive about 10-15 minutes before the service so you won't feel rushed.

Friendly ushers
Our ushers will welcome you into the worship center, hand you our information-filled weekend program and direct you to a seat.  Then, you’re free to give the service a test drive—sit back, relax, and enjoy the service!  When the offering time comes, please know you are under no obligation to give, and we really mean that!  Giving is an act of worship for those who call Riverside Church their home.

Creative and powerful worship service
Riverside uses its resources in innovative ways, striving to communicate the 2,000-year-old message of Christ in a manner that appeals to people today.  The message is powerful by itself, but it becomes personal and memorable when supported with a combination of powerful music, creative illustrations and video clips—taking God’s truth from the complex to the simple.  It's real and relevant.
